Cecile Garrett is a Product Manager from the Paris office who is responsible for maximizing our performance by delivering product features. When she’s not busy managing the product teams, she’s exploring places around the globe- all the way to the bottom of the ocean.
- What brought you to Trax?
I joined Trax through the acquisition of Planorama in 2019. Back then I was a part of the Growth Marketing Team, generating leads for the Sales Team. Then I moved to the Product Team because I wanted to make a larger impact on the products we provide. When you’re in marketing, you have a general understanding of the products, but I wanted to gain more expertise and be able to talk to a larger range of stakeholders. So when I got the chance, I made the move. The products make a direct impact on internal and external users, and I can definitely feel the impact now. It’s great to be in the center of the action!
- How does your role contribute to the success of Trax?
As a Product Manager, I’m in charge of making sure that the features we deliver are going to increase our performance while requiring less security and cost on the backend. I’m also responsible in creating the best look and most efficient flow for the users. It’s a huge responsibility, but I guess that comes with the job. In five years, I don’t imagine myself anywhere else. Being a part of the Product Team, you move from one product to another, and all the customers are so different. You have to learn a lot of skills- it’s almost like a new job every time.
- What is your favorite memory at Trax?
In 2020 right before lockdown, I had the opportunity to join the Sales Kickoff in the United States. Back then I was a Product Manager for the Space Planning Solution that came to Trax with the acquisition of Planorama. I had to present the products and make sure that the Sales Team understood the usefulness of all the tools. It was the first time I presented in front such a large audience, and I was able to meet so many people at the event. It was very meaningful both professionally and personally- especially before lockdown.
- What keeps you engaged at work and in your role?
I love the fact that we have a lot to do, a lot to learn, and that we can actually decide on the next steps and priorities for the products. I also love that it’s a very collaborative role- you’re not managing anyone, but you have to make sure that everybody is moving in the same direction. You’re always discovering things that you weren’t aware of before so it’s quite challenging, but it broadens your mind. It’s the tiny things that make this job so interesting.
- What do you like to do outside of work? What are your hobbies? Tell us something about yourself we wouldn’t know from your CV.
I love to travel and discover new places like India- it was a bit of a culture shock for me, but very interesting and a great memory. I love places where I can scuba dive- I’m not an expert yet but I’d like to keep practicing to get better and better. Paris is also a great place to go out, visit theaters and cultural sites. I love to workout and really miss when we would go to the gym next to the office as a team. Apart from that, I also love to draw.
- What does it mean to be a Traxer?
Being a Traxer means having the ability to adapt to quick changes in pace. In a way, Trax is more of a startup than Planorama was- it’s growing so quickly, but still has the startup spirit. Being a Traxer also means being flexible and understanding of each other since we’re from so many different countries, backgrounds, and companies. Trax is a great place to meet new people.
